Dental Implants
From €2200 Enquire
A dental implant is a metal fixture (usually a screw) that is placed into the jaw bone. It acts as a support for a false tooth or a set of false teeth. The fixture fuses with the jaw bone (osseointegration). Implants are made of commercially and medically pure Titanium. This is the same metal that has been successfully used in hip replacements for many years. It is inert and is not known to cause any type of rejection phenomenon.
Dental Crowns
€500  -  €600 Enquire
Dental Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, entirely covers or "caps" over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooths new outer surface. Crowns can be made out of porcelain (meaning some sort of dental ceramic), metal (a gold or other metal alloy), or a combination of both. Dental crowns are routinely made for teeth that have broken, worn excessively, or else have had large portions destroyed by tooth decay.
Veneers
€500  -  €600 Enquire
In dentistry, a veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material that, when applied over the surface of a tooth, can cover worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing, and chips or cracks. Worn enamel: Over time, the thin, hard white substance covering your teeth (enamel) may become worn, dulled, and discoloured. Such wear and discoloration may be natural or the result of a genetic predisposition; however, it is often a result of your habits (soft drinks, tea or coffee consumption, smoking, medication use, etc.). Wear and tear: Teeth naturally wear down as people age. Aged teeth are more likely to have chips, cracks or a generally uneven appearance. Crooked or Misaligned teeth: Certain people may be born with abnormal spacing between the teeth that grows wider as they age. Uneven teeth: Uneven teeth can result from tooth grinding or general wear and tear. Regardless of what causes unattractive teeth, dental veneers may solve most or even all of your cosmetic dental issues.

Teeth Whitening
From €300 Enquire
This is where the Dentist takes impressions of your teeth, and the customized trays are made for you in our lab. At this appointment, the Dentist will apply the first setting of whitening gel.  After this the patient will keep the trays and wear them for an hour a day for between ten to fourteen days. It’s a brilliant system and allows you to judge how white you want your teeth to go.
Dental Bridges
From €900 Enquire
Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. Missing teeth can cause a change in occlusion (bite), shifting of the teeth, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), speech impediments, an increased risk for periodontal disease and a greater chance of tooth decay.

Dental Crowns
A crown is like a special sleeve made of metal or porcelain, or both, that goes over a damaged or weak tooth. Ballincollig Dental in Cork will shape the tooth so that, with the artificial crown, it will be the same size as the normal tooth.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, semi-translucent “shells” typically attached to your front teeth. Veneers are a great alternative to otherwise painful dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile.
Dentures
Teeth Whitening
As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. At Ballincollig Dental, we can help whiten your teeth and give you the perfect smile. Contact us today if you are interested in our teeth whitening service.

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a 'cap'. Crowns are an ideal restoration for teeth that have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. A crown could be used for a number of other reasons, for instance: you may have discoloured fillings and would like to improve the appearance of the tooth you may have had a root filling which will need a crown to protect it. it may help hold a bridge or denture firmly in place.
Veneers
€200  -  €750 Enquire
A veneer is a facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail. Veneers are made out of porcelain and are used mainly for aesthetic reasons. Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed. Porcelain veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth (usually the upper ones) generally. Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
Dentures
€300  -  €1000 Enquire
A complete or full denture is one that replaces all of the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws. A partial denture fills in the spaces created by lost or missing teeth and is attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments. The base of a denture is called a plate and can be made of either acrylic (plastic) or metal. The teeth are normally made of acrylic and can be made to match your natural teeth. This is especially important in the case of partial dentures.

Dental Bridges
€1400  -  €3000 Enquire
A bridge is usually used where there are fewer teeth to replace, or when the missing teeth are only on one side of the mouth. Bridges are usually made of a precious metal base. If the bridge will show, porcelain is then bonded to the base. Sometimes, there are other non-precious metals used in the base to reduce the cost. You should replace missing teeth for a number of reasons. Your appearance is one reason. Another is that the gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain is put on the teeth at either side. A gap can also mean your 'bite' is affected, because the teeth next to the space can lean into the gap and alter the way the upper and lower teeth bite together. This can then lead to food getting packed into the gap, which causes both decay and gum disease.
