Bad Breath Treatment

Bad breath, medically called halitosis, can result from poor dental health habits and may be a sign of other health problems. Bad breath can also be made worse by the types of foods you eat and other unhealthy lifestyle habits.

How Does What You Eat Affect Breath?

Basically, all the food eaten begins to be broken down in your mouth. As foods are digested and absorbed into the bloodstream, they are eventually carried to your lungs and given off in your breath. If you eat foods with strong odors (such as garlic or onions), brushing and flossing, even mouthwash merely covers up the odor temporarily. The odor will not go away completely until the foods have passed through your body.

Why Do Poor Habits Cause Bad Breath?

If you dont brush and floss teeth daily, food particles can remain in your mouth, which promotes bacterial growth between teeth, around the gums, and on the tongue. This causes bad breath. In addition, odor-causing bacteria and food particles can cause bad breath if dentures are not properly cleaned.

Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products can also cause bad breath, stain teeth, reduce your ability to taste foods, and irritate the gums.

What Health Problems Are Associated With Bad Breath?

Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be warning signs of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth.

Removable Braces

Simple braces

Move only one or two teeth at a time

May be used to correct an early problem

Cannot manage complextreatment

Often fixed appliances are required later to make the teeth straight and fit together

Getting your braces fitted

Removable braces are usually worn only on your upper teeth. They are kept in by metal clips that fit over the teeth at the front and back. It does not hurt to get a removable brace fitted.

Visit 1:

An impression is taken of your upper teeth. This is a short appointment lasting only five minutes. The impression is sent to our technician, who will then make the brace for us. This takes about one week.

Visit2:

The brace is fitted over your upper teeth very easily. We will show you how to take it in and out and you will have the opportunity to practice.

Porcelain Bridge

A fixed dental bridge is a artificial tooth which is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in an area left by a missing tooth. The bridge, therefore, consists of two crowns and a false tooth. Bridges are not removable, as a partial denture would be.

It is very important to replace missing teeth. When a tooth is missing, other teeth shift and without proper support they can work their way out of the socket. The shift in teeth allows harmful plaque to collect in stretched sockets and other hard-to-reach places, which can lead to cavities and gum disease. The consequences can be even worse – as your bite changes your jaw joint may be damaged.

A bridge allows you to avoid all these problems. To begin, the teeth on either side of the space will be prepared for the crowns before we make an impression to use in creating the model for the false tooth. We then create a temporary bridge for you to wear while your bridge is being made.

On your second appointment, we check the fit of your new bridge and ensure that your bite feels natural and comfortable and when everything is exactly right we bond the bridge in place.

With discerning attention to detail, we match the natural colour of your adjacent teeth to make sure your bridge looks as natural as possible. If you maintain good oral hygiene, it should last ten years or more.

Dental Implants

Have you lost a permanent tooth? Do you feel shy to smile because of gaps between your teeth? Do you wear dentures and suffer from some of the following issues:

  1. Clicking and slipping while talking?
  2. Pain and irritation when you chew?
  3. Looking or feeling older than your age?

If so, then dental implants might be the best choice for you. Dental implants look natural and function as your own teeth. A dental implant looks like a screw or cylinder and serves as a replacement for the missing tooth’s root.

A Dental implant is made of titanium and doesn’t cause an adverse reaction when it is surgically attached to the gum tissue and the jawbone by a professional oral surgeon or implant dentist. The process of getting dental implants may take several months to complete and involves the following three phases:

one missing tooth replaced with a dental implant. this is done without cutting and weakening adjacent teeth. the new tooth is not connected to adjacent teeth, andis  supported only by the anchored implant in the bone. home care consists of brushing and flossing, just as in natural teeth.

If you have one missing tooth, or a tooth that should be removed, your best and most natural option is a dental implant. Dental implants replace the lost tooth so perfectly that the new tooth looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.Quite often it is possible to replace a tooth, using a flapless procedureand an immediate load dental implant. This means, no stitches, and a toothis placed on the impla

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon or your dentist can remove(extract) a wisdom tooth. The procedure often can be done in the dentist’s or surgeon’s office. You may have the surgery in the hospital, especially if you are having all your wisdom teeth pulled at one time or if you are at high risk for complications.

If you have any infections, surgery will usually be delayed until the infection has cleared up. Your doctor or dentist may have you take antibiotics to help heal the infection.

Before removing a wisdom tooth, your dentist will give you a local anaesthetic to numb the area where the tooth will be removed.

Temporary Filling

You may receive a temporary filling (usually white, off-white or gray) if:

  • Your treatment requires more than one appointment.
  • Your dentist wants to wait a short period of time for the tooth to heal.
  • You have a deep cavity and the pulp (containing the nerve and blood vessels) becomes exposed during treatment.
  • You need emergency dental treatment.

A temporary filling may make your tooth feel better. This is because the filling seals the tooth, protecting the pulp from bacteria and reducing sensitivity.

Temporary fillings often contain eugenol, an ingredient in over-the-counter toothache remedies. Eugenol is also a component of oil of cloves, which people use for toothache pain.

Temporary fillings are not meant to last. Usually, they fall out, fracture or wear out within a month or two. If you get a temporary filling, make sure you visit your dentist to get a permanent one. If you dont, your tooth could become infected or you could have other problems.

1. Initial Visit and Examination

At your first visit, Ladenta Doctor will examine your teeth, jaws, and facial relationships for any problems and give you a full explanation of the situation.

While this first exam does not always result in immediate treatment, it allows the doctor to determine how and when a patients particular problem should be treated for maximum improvement.

2. Diagnostic Evaluation

Next, orthodontic records such as x-rays, photos, and impressions are taken so that Ladenta Doctor can judge the extent of the problem and develop a treatment plan.

3. Placement of Braces Compared to the "good old days" when each tooth was fit with bands to obtain the correct size - a time consuming and difficult process - braces today are applied to the front surface of the tooth. Usually the patient does not even feel them being placed!!! Our finely trained treatment staff then explains about how to care for your new braces.4. Periodic Appointments After the braces are placed, regular appointments are scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks to monitor your progress and make adjustments to your braces. These visits usually involve re-tying or changing the "archwire" to continue straightening your teeth. Many patients will "pick colors" to highlight, rather than conceal, their braces. This makes your orthodontic experience more fun, with colors being changed each appointment, to celebrate different events, changes in season, or your particular style.

5. Retention: The Last and Important Step OK, the braces are off and your teeth are straight. No more appointments, right? Well, not exactly. Now begins the
