"The results are better than I could have expected"
80%Reviewed 16 Aug 2017 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Tummy Tuck
From my initial consultation with Mr. Majahan, I felt at ease. He explained all the available options to me, recommending a fleur de lis for a better result. Having been given time to think I decided to have the FDL and am so pleased with the results. Having lost weight and had two children I hated my stomach. It is now flat and the results are better than I could have expected.

I'm now almost 3 weeks post op and have seen Mr. Majahan once already and will see him again next week. His assistant, Nicola is also extremely helpful, answering any questions from my initial consultation (and there were lots!) to ringing me after my op.

I am planning on having a breast uplift soon and Mr. Majahan will be doing this operation too. I highly recommend him.

All the staff were very friendly and looked after me well. Thank you.

"The treatment was fabulous and the team the best"

Treatment Received: Tummy Tuck
I had my tummy tuck and liposuction operation on 8/7/17 at Spire Hospital Elland. My consultant was Mr. A. Marajan who I consider to be very special as he performed such a miracle on my tummy!

As a child I was always overweight and after having 4 children and losing then gaining weight several times over the years I was left with flabby skin which no matter what I did or how much weight I lost it was never going to improve. Over the last 20 years, I have thought about having a tummy tuck and what it would be like to have a 'flat stomach' but either I didn't have the money or when I did, I decided to spend it on Christmas or a cruise! Then earlier this year 2 things happened. Firstly my younger brother died suddenly of a heart attack, no warning, one minute he was here, then next he was gone and the other I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes which meant I had to stick to a strict diabetic diet. While on the diet I found I was losing weight again very quickly, after about 6 weeks I began to see the flabby/folds of skin reappear and started thinking about the possibility of a tummy tuck once again, this time, however, things were different. 1: I had the money, 2: due to the summer holidays I could take time off to recover as I'm a Maths Lecturer and 3 as my brother had died so suddenly I now had a new outlook on life, which is life is far too short for all of us so just do it!

So I just did it! I rang Spire Hospital who I found online when I googled tummy tuck various options came up and it was obvious I could pay as little or as much as I wanted and I could go anywhere in the world to have the procedure done. There was so much choice, how was I going to decide? The one and only thing I knew for sure was that as this was going to be a big operation and totally life changing I wanted to know that the outcome would be a successful one with as little complications as possible. The cost was very much a second thought. I wanted to make sure that I would be looked after and guided to make the best decision for me.

I chose Spire because they were smaller than other leading companies as I thought I would just be a number rather than a patient, also the hospital was less than 30 minutes away from home, no flights to foreign countries or languages for me. Things were going to be hard enough without adding a language barrier into the mix! So I bit the bullet and phoned the hospital. I spoke to the receptionist who was lovely and was able to answer my questions with confidence and clarity, calming my nerves. How can you be so nervous just making a phone call? By the time I put the phone down I had an appointment to see Mr. Marajan in 2 weeks time, knew the all inclusive price, how long I could expect to stay in the hospital and what the recovery time would be.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I found myself sitting in a very nice waiting room complete with flowers and complimentary coffee machine! I was called right on time, no 3-hour wait when you pay privately and was shown into the consultation room where I met Mr. Marajan for the first time. He was very pleasant and professional asking what he could do for me. I told him I wanted to 'get rid of this' grabbing hold of my stomach flab! He examined me and took some pictures before explaining what procedure I needed.

Basically, I needed a full tummy tuck and liposuction pricing at £6400 plus £100 consultation fee! He went through all the possible risks although if I'm really honest I wasn't really listening as I was so thrilled and shocked he'd said he would do the operation! At that moment in time, it didn't matter what the risks were I wanted it done! A little stupid but when you've waited and dreamed of having it done for so long all you can think of is it's happening, I'm finally going to get a flat stomach. Something which I've never ever had in my life before! So we set a date for 8th July 2017, less than 6 weeks to go! I could have had it done sooner but wanted to tie my operation in with the summer holidays. As the weeks went by I couldn't imagine what I was going to look like except better than I did! I'd be excited one minute and then paralyzed with fear the next, what was I doing? Why didn't I just book a cruise and just live with how I was? After all, my husband of 25 years loved me just the way I was! The thing was I wasn't doing it for him I was doing it for myself. I sucked it up and counted down the days.

The night before my operation I couldn't sleep as I kept thinking about all the things that could happen both good and bad. I'd already had a conversation with my sister about my finances and funeral should I not pull through! Finally, morning came and I was on my way to the hospital with my mind all over the place. When I arrived I was taken to the ward by a nurse where I was settled into my room before I saw Mr. Marajan and the anesthetist in preparation for my procedure. I had been asked to arrive at 7 am and by 8.30 am I was on my way to the theatre! I was asked to lay in a trolley where I was given a cocktail of drugs before being put to sleep. My final thought was "there's no going back now".

I've survived! Was my first thought when I came round quickly followed by 'I'm going to be sick!' Which I was, I can remember being aware of people around me and looking after me while I was in recovery before being moved back to my room, where I drifted in and out of sleep for several hours. I remember my husband coming to see me but sent him away as I wasn't up to talking. I just wanted to sleep! I had been told my operation would take about 3 to 4 hours but I wasn't back in my room at 4.30pm that's 8 hours I was away from my room! When I finally came round enough to notice what was going on I felt terrible. I wasn't in any pain as such but felt stiff and sickly due to a number of drugs I'd been given! I seemed to fall into a pattern of 20 minutes sleeping than 10 minutes awake. I was aware of people coming to check on me and talking to them but as soon as they left I was asleep in no time! Because I felt so rough I did wonder what the hell I'd done to myself!

One of the nurses asked me if I'd had a look at my scar, I said no, I was too scared to look! I could tell from how the blankets fell on my bed that my stomach was a lot flatter than it had been 24 hours ago, but didn't want to venture any further than that! She said she had looked and said it looked fantastic and she knew I was feeling rubbish but I wouldn't regret my decision! By 12 pm the following day I was feeling a little better, I wasn't able to eat any breakfast so hadn't eaten anything since about 9 pm on Friday, two days before so was looking forward to my dinner! I had been checked over by Mr. Marajan who told me he had taken a total of 7.5kg from my stomach, that's 16.5lbs for those of you in old money! Over a stone I had lost in the last 24 hours. I had a bed, bath, clean pajamas and been refitted for a compression garment as the one I had been put in during surgery was miles too big! I'd managed to look at my new stomach and oh my goodness, it's flat! Is all I could say! It did feel weird having never had a flat stomach ever before! I managed to eat a little but the cocktail of drugs made me feel sickly although I wasn't actually sick, which is worse don't you think?! My family came to see me curious to see the results and make sure I was still alive! My youngest who's 21 didn't want me to have the operation and was a little worried I wouldn't make it!

I was in the hospital for a total of 4 nights, being given the very best possible care. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone had time to talk to me and answer any questions I had. My room was cleaned regularly as was my en suite, I just rested and watch Wimbledon the whole time I was there! My only complaint was that due to me feeling sickly I wasn't able to eat much of the fabulous food they kept bringing me! I was given a proper menu and told if I fancied something I could have it.

Overall the treatment was fabulous and the team the best.

Treatment Received: Facelift
I recently had a lower face lift surgery performed by Mr. A. Mahajan at The Yorkshire Clinic, Bingley. I am absolutely delighted with the results, and feel that Mr. Mahajan followed my wishes exactly. There was a minimum amount of discomfort and all the bruising disappeared within ten days. I stayed overnight at the clinic after surgery and was very well looked after by all the staff. I cannot praise Mr. Mahajan’s skill and artistry enough and highly recommend him and his staff.

Treatment Received: Labiaplasty
I had been conscious for a number of years that my labia was quite big and I felt uncomfortable when naked. I researched the operation and decided to go for it. I can't tell you how happy I am to have finally taken the plunge to do it. It has been worth every penny and the operation itself was virtually pain-free.

I chose the Yorkshire Clinic as its close to where I live and didn't want to travel. The staff and consultant were amazing. I was completely looked after and guided through every step of the day.

"My experience was excellent in every way"

Treatment Received: Plastic Surgeon Consultation
I am a 65 year old female professional. As a young woman, I had a goiter resulting from an underactive thyroid gland and the resulting bagginess in my neck got worse as I got older. I regularly lecture and engage in public events and the appearance of my neck and lower face was increasingly affecting my self-confidence. After researching aesthetic surgery on the internet, I found information about Mr. Mahajan and contacted the Spire Elland Hospital, where he practices. In my initial consultation, Mr. Mahajan explained the advantages and disadvantages of the surgery and I lost my initial anxiety about undergoing this procedure. Mr. Mahajan inspires confidence and the whole process, from my initial consultation through surgery and my first follow up appointment has been highly satisfactory. I would definitely recommend this surgeon and this hospital to a friend.

The nurses, anesthetist and ward staff at the Spire Elland were uniformly efficient, kindly and attentive and the room was very comfortable. My experience of the hospital was excellent in every way.

"What a fabulous surgeon"
90%Reviewed 04 Aug 2017 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Lipoabdominoplasty
I have recently had a lipo-abdominoplasty (tummy tuck to you and me!) carried out my Mr. Ajay Mahajan at the Yorkshire Clinic. What a fabulous surgeon. His attention to all the finer details is exceptional. The details regarding all the associated procedures together with the consequences of recovery were so thorough that all of my questions were answered. I found him to be a very approachable, diligent (he wrote after all visits to my own GP to update my medical records), supportive and extra caution in assisting full recovery after a minor wound infection. I enjoyed my surgery and recovery under his care. I am now thinking of what else he can do!

The care on the ward was not only friendly but very informative. The nursing staff was lovely and even though they must be rushed off their feet, had time for you if you needed anything. The food was great by the way. So good that I had to be careful not to need another ‘tummy tuck’! Highly recommend the surgeon and the hospital.

"First impressions could not have been better"

Treatment Received: Breast Implants
The treatment I had at the Yorkshire clinic was a breast enlargement, and even though I'm only 5 weeks post surgery I haven't once looked back. It was something that I had been thinking about for years and all I could ever say to people is what are you waiting for?! Every single moment I spent at the clinic was as comfortable and as pleasant as It could ever have been. The results are amazing and really are life changing, its worth every penny and more!

I chose the clinic after a close relative had recommended it to me as they'd had surgery there too. I was always made to feel so welcome and the room I stayed in post surgery was like a hotel room with a hospital bed, so comfortable and nice. I felt at ease and able to ask my surgeon anything and first impressions could not have been better.

"My little bubble of excitement"
100%Reviewed 20 Jun 2017 Review verified by phone.
Treatment Received: Breast Lift
I'm 21 years old and recently had a breast augmentation. This procedure is something I've wanted since my mid teenage years, however, I've always been apprehensive.

After a lot of research, I came across Spire Elland Hospital and more importantly Mr. Mahajan who has a great reputation within the plastic surgery industry. As my mom was set against my breast augmentation, I let her further research into Mr. Mahajan to reassure herself and she finally got on board.

Further down the line I booked a consultation with Mr. Mahajan at the hospital and had the chance to speak to him about what I wanted. He was very reassuring and more importantly, realistic. Growing up I had never developed any sort of breast tissue, meaning I was completely flat, I was measured by Mr. Mahajan and found to only have 2 cm worth of breast tissue, in simple terms, I didn't even fit into a training bra! This was a huge insecurity of mine, I absolutely dreaded going on holiday or to the swimming pool and would never change in front of people.

As I explained to Mr. Mahajan I wanted a natural looking pair of boobs, I didn't want to look like I had two massive melons stuck on my chest. Mr. Mahajan explained the issue with having such a small amount of breast tissue, meaning the skin would be difficult to stretch, meaning I couldn't go too big and it would be best placed under the muscle in order to cover the implant in order to avoid it looking 'stuck on'.

Like I previously mentioned, my process with Mr. Mahajan was never rushed and most importantly realistic. He did not promise things he could not guarantee and he made me feel at ease throughout every appointment.

As my surgery date approached I was a mixture of scared, nervous, happy and unsettled. I kept constantly wondering if my implants will look right? Are they big enough? Will I be okay? Every question was running through my mind. When the day finally came, everything ran so smoothly, I had the chance to talk with Mr. Mahajan before my surgery as he marked me up. He mentioned his worries of whether he would physically be able to get the implant behind my muscle due to the lack of skin. He was upfront and honest - something which is definitely reassuring before surgery.

Fast forward a few hours and I was woken up, feeling terribly drowsy from the anesthetic... with BOOBS! - you know those two things on your chest that I'd never had before!
Even better, I had no drains and only two small incisions covered by bandages - It was amazing!

Later that night Mr. Mahajan popped in to see me and I finally got the chance to see them, they looked AMAZING. They didn't look stupidly oversized or stuck on, they were pert, symmetrical and boobs... actual boobs!

Now, the few days after surgery are the worst! I left the hospital in my little bubble of excitement, however in the days after I found myself questioning whether my boobs were big enough. I was already warned by Mr. Mahajan of 'boob greed' and thought I'd avoid it as I'd never had any anyway, however, I was fretting about the size to the point where I ended up asking for a telephone consultation with Mr. Mahajan - who called me back within a couple of hours!

During the conversation, I had the chance to have a better chat with him and I was reassured about my size and told I couldn't have gone any bigger if I'd had wanted to, as it was a struggle even getting these implants in due to my lack of skin.

I'm now approaching 4 weeks later and I've never felt better, I had my bandages removed last week and my scars are tiny! I had a follow-up appointment with Mr. Mahajan to discuss everything I needed to and I'm due to see him in 3 months. My boobs have dropped loads and I can finally sleep on my side! I've bought a few none wired bras and I'm currently fitting a 32DD - (I never thought I'd say that!)
Above all, I'm so thankful to Mr. Mahajan, he made the entire process so relaxed, I never once felt worried about the outcome as I felt like I was in good hands, he's unbelievably well trained (honestly Google him, he's everywhere) and very professional!

If I can give anyone any advice if they're due to have surgery or still in the process of deciding, it's definitely worth it, but do your research! Don't be taken in by these 'clinics' that offer cheap surgery, at the end of the day, it may be cosmetic but it is still surgery. Finally and most importantly, research your surgeon, find one who is realistic and professional and who genuinely has your best interest in mind - find Mr. Mahajan

Thank you!

Mr. Mahajan is unbelievably well trained and professional, he knows what he's talking about and puts you at ease.
He isn't pushy when it comes to cosmetic surgery - he's upfront and honest and I believe he would tell you if you had no need for the surgery you desired.

As for myself, I didn't feel mine was completely for the purpose of vanity as I literally had no breast tissue and I couldn't fit into a bra. He was realistic with my outcome and explained every part of the surgery. He thoroughly explained that there can be complications with my breast augmentation, as it is surgery, however, he reassured me that these problems are very rare.

Finally, I felt at ease around Mr. Mahajan, I could have a laugh and a joke with him as well as a serious conversation. He's extremely professional and knows his stuff. I never felt apprehensive to ask him a question or contact him if I was unsure.

Before my breast augmentation I had to have a mole removed on my left breast, originally I was sent to my local dermatology department and they said they would cut out a chunk of my breast the size of my thumbprint. I left the room and never went back, I asked my doctor to refer me to Mr. Mahajan as I already had my breast augmentation booked in with him. He took a completely different approach. He removed the mole and cut so the scar lined up against my areola and is barely visible. Unlike the other doctor he had my best interest in mind, he knew that if he removed a big chunk I would be left with a misshapen breast area and even less breast tissue than I already had. He did an absolutely amazing job of both the removal of my mole and my breast augmentation, both with tiny scars and no external stitches, he literally is amazing!

"My stomach looks so natural"

Treatment Received: Lipoabdominoplasty
Following 2 C-Sections over the last 5 years left me with a large overhang, which no amount of dieting or exercise could improve. I had a lipo-abdominoplasty with Mr. Mahajan and I have to say the care, service, and results are amazing. I have been thinking about having this procedure for the last 5 years, literally every day but wanted to complete my family before looking into the procedure on a serious basis. I could not have picked a better surgeon, he has extensive experience, the results are amazing and better than I could ever of imagine, my stomach looks so natural, the scar is perfect (better than my previous c-section scarring) and I'm only 4 weeks post op so I know it will even get better over time. Mr. Mahajan puts no pressure to go ahead with the surgery and is very clear on what happens and how to care for yourself afterward. He checks on you in Hospital until you are
Ok to go home. The aftercare is fantastic as you can call Mr. Mahajan or the ward with any concerns and they are aways happy to help. Anyone out there seriously thinking of having any surgery with Mr. Mahajan please be assured yours in the best hands. Don't go by cheapest if you are looking around because you can't put a price on care and results. Amazing surgeon and would highly recommend!

Yorkshire Clinic were highly professional and caring to myself and my family. Always there when needed. I regard the nurses to be very supportive and couldn't do enough for me. The food was amazing too. Highly rexommmend.

"My confidence has grown"
100%Reviewed 03 Jun 2017 Review verified by phone.
Treatment Received: Liposuction
After being unhappy with my thighs since I was an early teenager, I finally took the plunge to have Liposuction. At the time of surgery my thighs measured at 29 inch, at the top, and 25 inch just above my knees. I spoke to Mr Mahajan who admitted it would be a challenge but he would do his best.

I attended my local Spire hospital and was well looked after and placed at ease by everybody I came into contact with. Mr Mahajan came to see me shortly before surgery and again assured me he would do his best with what he had to work with. The surgery went well and I did not feel much pain afterwards; this may have been down to the pain killers and I felt nicely relaxed from the anaesthetic – I had an overnight stay in the hospital. The following day I went home and still there was not much pain, the hospital provided me with strong painkillers which I did not feel the need to take and instead I took paracetamol every 6 hours for 2-3 days. I rested a lot for about 5 days, but regularly walked around the house every hour.

The results for me have been fantastic. It has been 5 weeks since surgery, I am still wearing the supports (which I find really comfy), but I am buying clothes one or two sizes smaller, depending on the fit, and I now measure 25 inches, at the top of my thighs, and 20 inches, at the top of my knees. My confidence has grown and unfortunately so has my spending. Mr Mahajan was very honest and professional. I attended two appointments with him before the procedure, he then came to see me on the day of the surgery and first thing the following morning. I have since had a follow up appointment and have another in August. As a result of this I felt reassured and fully informed at every stage. I would fully recommend Mr Mahajan to anyone considering this procedure.

The Spire Hospital Elland has been a very pleasant experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I was regularly checked up upon. I have been contacted as and when was necessary and felt I received exactly the right amount of information.

Breast Implants
It is important for patients to not only gain first hand experience about how their new breasts will look on their body, but to also have an idea as to how the added weight would feel like on their chests. Mr Mahajan uses the Biodynamic breast analysis system, which allows patients to understand this by wearing various biodynamic sizers during their consultation. Patients often come to us for this procedure after contemplating about it for years. After the procedure, they wish that they had had it done ages ago and not had to live with their small breasts for all those years.
From £4852
Breast Lift
A breast uplift procedure helps remove excess breast skin to reduce the breast envelope to a smaller one that fits your existing breast tissue more snugly. Following the procedure, patients have a nice shape to their breasts and the nipples are elevated and placed in the right position on the new breasts. In the end, the breasts are no longer saggy and are much more perkier and attractive. Some patients have a very large areola which can be reduced to a smaller, regular and well defined areola that is much more desirable.
From £5315
Breast Reduction
Mr Mahajan has innovated breast reduction surgery by designing a breast reduction marker that helps him achieve excellent results in his patients. He has presented his technique and its benefit at various national and international meetings (see presentations and publications below). He applies this marker and technique to his breast uplift procedures too, which are similar procedures, but a breast uplift does not involve reducing the amount of breast tissue.
