Our Senior Surgeon and Medical Director Andrew Skanderowicz F.R.C.S. has been with the Dublin Cosmetic Surgery Centre since its launch and has specialised in Cosmetic Surgery for over 25 years. Below is a timeline of his career.
1973: Qualified at St. Bartholomews Hospital, University of London.
1974 - 1981: Underwent surgical training in the National Health Service in London and Nottingham.
1978: Became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the Royal Society of Medicine.
1981 - 1984: Joined a busy cosmetic surgery practice and underwent formal full-time training in cosmetic surgery in the private sector.
1982: Went to Paris to study the new procedure of Liposuction and was formally trained by the father of Liposuction, Dr Gerard Illouz. Andrew was one of the first cosmetic surgeons to perform Liposuction in the UK.
1984: Became a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Surgeons (B.A.C.S.).
1986: Became the first surgeon to perform Liposuction in Ireland.
1989: Co-Author of "Basic Account of Cosmetic Surgery" 1st edition.
1989 - 1992: Academic Secretary of the British Association of Cosmetic Surgeons (B.A.C.S.).
1990: Author of "Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty Guide".
1994: Co-Author of "Basic Account of Cosmetic Surgery" 2nd edition.
1994 - 2000: Became Secretary of the British Association of Cosmetic Surgeons (B.A.C.S.).
2004: Co-Author of "Basic Account of Cosmetic Surgery" 3rd edition.
2007 - Now: President of the British Association of Cosmetic Surgeons (B.A.C.S.).
2007: Co-Author of "Every Womans Guide to Cosmetic Surgery".
