Dr. Rahul Tandon is a well known figure in plastic surgery. He is an experienced cosmetic and plastic surgeon with over 13 years of practice in the field of plastic, cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgery.
He was born in the holy city of Prayag also known as Allahabad and did his schooling there.
He joined Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Allahabad in 1990 for his MBBS which he completed in 1995. He secured Gold Medal in final professional examination
After completing one year of internship he went to pursue his Masters in General Surgery from King Georges Medical, Lucknow another reputed medical colloge of India. He completed his MS in General Surgery in 1999.
Thereafter he joined Christian Medical College, Ludhiana in 2000 for his super specialization in Plastic Surgery. The College is a pioneer center for plastic and microvascular training and is well known institute world wide. He finished his MCh in Plastic Surgery in 2002. He continued in the department for one year and was promoted to Assistant Professor.
During his stay in CMC Ludhiana, he got training under the able guidance of Dr.Abraham Thomas and Dr.Vijay Obed , both of them being international figures as far as plastic surgery goes.
After coming out from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana he started his private practice and joined G.T.B Hospital, Ludhiana and headed the department of plastic and cosmetic surgery. He along with his team performed surgeries covering all aspects of plastic surgery like Facio-Maxilary trauma, burns, hand injuries, congenital anomalies and cosmetic surgery.
His cosmetic surgery work includes procedures to improve the looks of the individual and restore confidence and beauty in the personality. He is regularly performing procedures like breast augmentation, breast reduction, body contouring, liposuction, tummy-tuck, abdominoplasty, cosmetic genital rejuvenation, facial rejuvenation/face lift, rhinoplasty, hair transplantation, mole/warts removal & scar revision etc.
He is equally interested and performing other aspects of plastic surgery like craniofacial and maxillofacial surgeries involving facial bones, hand surgeries, congenital anomalies , post burn deformities and microvascular surgeries. He has to his credit replantation of limbs at various levels and complex microvascular reconstructions.
He is a "Smile Train" accredited plastic surgeon & is regularly performing surgeries for cleft lip & palate children at the centres where the "Smile Train" Programme is running.
Dr. Rahul Tandon has attended many national and international conferences of plastic surgery. He still regularly goes to worshops and tutorials relating to innovations and newer techniques in the field of cosmetic surgery. He has also delivered lectures and papers at various occasions.
Dr. Rahul Tandon is also known for his sincere concern for the patients. He only operates once the surgery is genuinely indicated and counsels the patients well once any procedure is planned. He makes the individual to define realistic goals from surgery and stays away from promising unexpected results.
