AboutDr. Ameya Velingker is a renowned Joint Replacement surgeon in Goa having done over 2000 hip & knee replacement surgeries with a more than 10 years experience in the field of arthroplasty and minimal invasive fracture fixations.
He is the only Goan with M.Ch in Orthopaedics after his MS (Masters in Orthopaedics). The only Goan Orthopaedic Surgeon honored with the prestigious Johnson & Johnson fellowship in joint replacement from the Johnson & Johnson Institute of medical science; the esteemed Fellow at the Knee Center, Brisbane, Australia in computer navigation in knee replacement, The Venerated revision knee fellowship from the European Institute of medical science, Germany, Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, USA. Dr.Velingker is also honored with the Oxford Partial Knee Advance Coarse by Prof. David Murray, University of Oxford, England & Dr. Christopher Dodd, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, England. He had the opportunity to have a hand-on experience with the world-renowned joint replacement surgeon Dr. Chitranjan Ranavat, Hospital for special surgeries, New York (US), who operated our ex-PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Dr. Ameya Velingker became the youngest life member of the Indian society of hip & Knee surgeons and the Indian Arthroplasty Association. He is also the member of the American Academy of Orthopaedics surgeon (AAOS). He has been an active participant of the ‘Current Concept of Joint replacement’ at Las Vegas.
He pioneered most advancements in the field of joint Replacements in Goa, namely the surface replacement, the full flexion knee (RPF), the large diameter hip replacement (LDH) and the one-stage bilateral knee replacement. Recently he has done the FIRST INDO-US tie-up for knowledge exchange between Goa and California to exchange the knowledge in Joint Replacement.
