I visited Dr. Polak on 18 December for liposuction surgery of thighs, stomach, and flanks for 1550euro. After surgery, I ended up in the hospital with severe complications.
Before the surgery, Dr. Polak and I had agreed on tumescent surgery of inner thighs, hips, flanks and abs. But that was not what I received the day of the surgery. He pumped my body (I am 1.77m, 65kg) full of 16 litres of fluids until I was grossly swollen and distorted and immobile. Dispite all the diluted fluids I still felt the pain of his aggressive cannula. But when I complained of the pain he ignored me.
After the surgery his nurse proceeded to wipe my wounds with rags that she dropped on the soiled floor, increasing my risks of infection. Furthermore, she bandaged my woulds without applying iodine or disinfectant beforehand. I was shivering incessantly yet he returned me to my hotel. A few hours later, some of my wounds continued bleeding pure red blood (not leaking diluted pink fluids) and I began to experience blurry vision, ringing ears, distressed breathing and irregular heartbeat.
Thank God my hotel manager rushed me to the hospital, otherwise I would not be here today. I tried calling Dr. Polak on the way to the hospital several times but he was unreachable. When he did arrive more than an hour later, he seemed to be very angry with me for being sick! He scolded at me for embarrasing him and told me the symptoms I experienced were normal..
