Were you pleased with the treatment?
Initially after speaking to my Parisian doctor about what sort of dentistry work I needed to have done I knew in my head that this was the only solution but at €6000 I knew I had to find someone who could do the treatment with the same professionalism and equipment, etc. at a more affordable price. I was told that I had to have my protruding bottom tooth situated in the centre extracted and then rearrange the whole of my bottom set of teeth to sit side by side or, at least, have the bottom 6 original teeth which were crooked, replaced. I never thought of nor was I advised on any alternative possibility. But after sending my X-rays to Dr Oykum Dilek in Turkey and then being giving an alternative solution with the same benefits, I was very much open to the idea. I was asked to think about which one I would prefer whilst travelling over to Antalya, Turkey. Upon meeting Oykum and speaking to him, he was certain and clear which treatment I should have done, but was kind enough to let me chose and make a final decision based on the facts he had presented to me. In the end, it was a little bit of both of our ideas. My original bottom front teeth were shaved down (front 5 teeth) to the size of a tooth pick therefore maintaining my own teeth and roots. The same process was done for my upper front teeth (4/5) then they were capped with porcelain teeth. So he succeeded in removing or hiding the protruding lower teeth, closing the gap between my two upper front teeth and straightening and reshaping all the surrounding frontal teeth and fitting the caps perfectly into my gums. I am very happy with the results and I sincerely feel that I was not forced to do something that I didn't want to do but rather a thought out decision. I was in Antalya for less than a week for the process start to finish.
