Dr Steve Shapland

Job Title:
 Doctor
Specialisations:
 Chiropractic
Biography:

Steve’s first experience of chiropractic came after he had 2 weeks off work with low back pain, following an injury during a rugby match; he was amazed at how good he felt after treatment. He chose to go in for regular treatment for preventative/wellness care. Steve was so impressed by the way that someone had relieved his back pain just by using their hands and without the use of drugs that he decided that he wanted to be able to do the same for others.

Steve completed a 4 years honours degree at Glamorgan University in 2005. Steve has had previous jobs but none that he felt passionate about the way he does with chiropractic. Steve’s interests are Pilates, keeping fit and visiting new places on his motorbike. He is looking forward to seeing more of the West Midlands in the future.

Dr Philip Cooper

Job Title:
 Doctor
Biography:
Dr Cooper has practised Chiropractic care for over seventeen years. He began his working life as an Electronic Engineer and continued as such for ten years until he hurt his back whilst at work. Phil suffered with regular episodes of acute back pain often lasting for two or three days at a time. He was referred to a Consultant through his health insurance who arranged for physiotherapy and advised he would be in a wheelchair by the time he was thirty! Fortunately a relative recommended he visit a Chiropractor and he has never looked back! Before beginning his Chiropractic training, Phil spent 12 months travelling around Australia and China, before returning to complete the 5 year course to qualify as a Chiropractor. He has since worked as a Chiropractor at various clinics, and owned his own practices, and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and the United Chiropractic Association. He works closely with the Doctor and physiotherapists at Aston Villa Football Club where the players benefit from a more holistic and preventative approach. He has recently taken over ownership of the Walsall Chiropractic Health Clinic and will continue to provide excellent care and relief to our many existing patients and future patients.

Dr Gemma Phipps

Job Title:
 Doctor
Biography:
Gemma qualified as a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Welsh institute of Chiropractic at the University of Glamorgan in 2008. She then went on to study at a post-graduate level gaining a PGCert in Clinical Chiropractic. She was originally from Streetly and went to school in Walsall, so she was 'delighted' to join us here at the Walsall Chiropractic Clinic as it's so close to home. Prior to studying for her Chiropractic degree she completed a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Sciences, Physiology and Pharmacology at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her interest in Chiropractic began after developing back pain due to poor posture whilst working for her local NHS trust. She visited her local Chiropractic Clinic and was so impressed by the treatment she experienced that she decided to retrain and become a Chiropractor. She treats patients of all ages, from children to great-grandparents and she is committed to providing high-quality, individually tailored personal care. She wants to ensure that all patients progress each time they walk through the door.
