Hydrotherapy,or water therapy, is the use of water (hot, cold, steam, or ice) to relievediscomfort and promote physical well-being. The recuperative and healingproperties of hydrotherapy are based on its mechanical and/or thermal effects.There are numerous proposed mechanisms of action of hydrotherapy, depending onthe specific technique used. It exploits the body's reaction to hot and coldstimuli, to the protracted application of heat, to pressure exerted by thewater and to the sensation it gives. The central brain structures responsible for motionactivity are activated with these exercises. The application of the ADELItreatment allows alleviation of the pathological reflexes and accelerates thedevelopment of new physiological movement patterns.

Themassage is performed by a highly-qualified masseur and it takes between 45 and60 minutes. It is an inseparable part of the treatment program, as it servesmuscle regeneration after an intensive proprioception training (proprioceptionbeing the constant physical sense and continuous perception of one's bodymovements; thus used as the cornerstone for rehabilitation programs). Themassage as a healing method has an extraordinary importance in the treatmentand after-care. It is a set of grapples that the masseur applies onto the bodyof the client. Masseur stimulates the skin, subcutaneous tissue andparticularly the muscles, which improves skin blood circulation, releasesmuscle tension and removes stress.
