Depening on the type of treatment required, the time needed can range from just minutes up to 2 hours.

Procedure

The procedures involved are varied. Some involved just the injection of filler materials without any sedation. Others require surgical incisions to place implant materials. Some will also involve the removal of small amounts of fat from other parts of your body for use as filler. Laser treatment involves no injections or surgery.

Recovery

Recovery can be anywhere from near instant to up to a week of rest.

Risks

There are risks involved with all treatments. Allergic reactions to the fillers used can be serious and should be tested for before proceding with treatment. Implants and filler can be positioned badly or shift leading to mis-shaped or asymmetrical lips. Collagen injections tend to last for just 3 months, and some others are not permanent either. Implants can also be rejected in some cases.
