I would try another dentist
Were you pleased with the treatment?
Best thing was getting my gums frozen before any jags and this made it totally painless.
The female Irish dentist commented my lower tooth at the back of my mouth, which is heavilly filled, was "leaking" and she would take an x-ray to see exactly what was going on with it.
She then did all of my other teeth over 2 visits, then directed me to the hygenist for a scrap and polish, telling me that was everything done - but no mention of the "leaking" tooth that was still leaking and giving me problems.
I was too embarrassed to pull her up about it and question her wisdom in letting me leave the practice with it in an unsatifactory and unattended condition.
Over a period of 3-years, it continued to bother me and I eventually returned to book an examination as the toothache was now unbearable.
The receptionist booked me in for the first appointment, which was just under a fortnights wait and I specifically asked for another dentist to examine me.
The receptionist verbally told me the time and date of my appointment, but didn`t give me a card, which she should have done as it is standard practice.
The result was, that after waiting nearly a fortnight, I mistakenly thought it was at 9.45am on Friday 11th September, instead of Thursday 10th.
I phoned the receptionist an the 11th to confirm my time for that day and she told me I now owed them £10 for a missed appointment.
I asked if a card should have been given out as a matter of routine, to remind me of my appointment time, to which she replied it should have.
I then asked to speak to a Mr. McClure, the owner of the practice, but she hurridly said he was busy and I`d have to submitt it a complaint in writing.
I intend writing to him with 2 complaints.
Would you recommend the clinic?
Only if they get themselves sorted out.
Would you return for further treatment?
Would try another dentist within the practice.
