Katie has worked in the Beauty industry for over eight years and came straight to work for Distinction from college. Having built up experience and a wealth of knowledge Katie decided to follow her dreams and buy the salon she loved working in. She had already built up an excellent reputation and an ever-increasing client base, so it seemed the right direction to move in. Katie is passionate about recreating the same spa environment she was used to but continuously adding new and more advanced treatments to the treatment list. The success of the salon has well exceeded Katie’s expectations with many clients booking appointments months in advance and travelling from all over Scotland and England to be treated by her. In her first year in business she won the Independent Business of the Year Award in the local community and is striving for more awards and recognition for her salon and dedicated and hardworking staff.

Amy is a girl of many talents, she is joint Assistant Manager here at Distinction, helping Katie with the running of the business as well as running her own full column every day. Amy enjoys the more aesthetic side to the salon and excels in lashes, nails and waxing. As queen of lash lifts, Amy has been very passionate about getting the perfect lashes. She has experimented with different techniques and brands to make sure all the clients leave with the perfect, mascara look lashes. Amy’s outgoing and fun personality leaves the clients loving her. She is almost always fully booked so get in early if you want to secure an appointment with her.

Lorraine is joint assistant manager of the salon is the longest serving member of the Distinction having joined in 2003. As I am sure you can imagine, her experience makes her popular amongst our client and she has built great friendships with them over the last fifteen years. She loves giving massage and advanced facials but her favourite treatment is advanced electrolysis. She is the only therapist in the salon who can perform this advanced treatment and the results she gets are amazing. If it is advanced treatments and a great chat you are looking for then Lorraine is your girl.

Carolanne started her Beauty Therapy career in a well-respected salon in Rutherglen before joining Distinction in September 2018. She enjoys all aspects of beauty but is particularly enthusiastic about skin care treatments and enjoys helping her clients to feel the differences treatments make to their skin. She loves the noticeable differences which can be seen in before and after photos and gets as excited as the clients do with their results. Carolanne keeps up to date with the ever-changing world of beauty by attending regular training courses. Her outgoing and bubbly personality makes her clients feel relaxed and ensures that everyone leaves with a smile on their face.
