Results improve with time but so far I am delighted

I recently had 3D Dreamforce at LAC. The clinic is very friendly, professional and spotless.

Gita was excellent and checked throughout the treatment that I was comfortable and explained everything that was happening.

My skin was a little bit red, like I’d been in the sun, for about an hour afterwards, but not in any way sore or painful. It soon settled.

Gita also recommend the correct aftercare to ensure the best outcome from the treatments. Four weeks after and using the aftercare products my skin looks clearer, fine lines reduced and my pores look so much finer. Results improve with time but so far I am delighted.

Chemical Peel

Obagi Radiance Peel This facial peel can be combined with Obagi product systems for enhanced results. It provides an instant radiance for most skin types. The peel can improve a range of skin concerns including photo damage and dull looking skin and results in an overall improvement in texture and tone. It provides instant radiance, tighter, smoother looking skin after just one treatment and has no downtime. A series of six peels is recommended. The Obagi Peel is a deep physician administered peel that is used for the face and under the eyes. As it is a deep peel there is downtime of around 7 days. Following this, you will notice that the skin looks brighter and any pigmentation will be reduced. Reduces premature ageing of the skin/acne flare ups and helps the skin look and act younger and healthier. To prep the skin before this treatment, Obagi range of products should be used for 6 weeks prior to the peel.

Deep Chemical Peel

A Specialised peel the Epionce range that can help improve skin clarity, texture and laxity. Due to the high level of salicylic content It can help reduce problem bacteria which can lead to acne, and the malic acid enhances skin hydration and gives a brightening effet. This peel is very aggressive but does not have the down time associated with similar strength peels. Products from the Epionce range must be used to prepare the skin for two weeks prior to the peel. Hebal Peel is a deeper peel using all natural ingredients to remove the skins upper layer to reveal new fresh cells. The micro particles polish and exfoliate the skin enabling the other ingredients to penetrate deeper. The skin will start flaking 48 hours after the process and downtime is 4 days.

Dermal Fillers

hyaluronic acid, a naturally existing substance found in the subcutaneous tissue of the skin, giving it the fullness and youthful appearance. It is manufactured with the help of bacteria and injected in the subcutaneous tissue of the skin, filling out lines and wrinkles. As it is a naturally occurring molecule in the body, no allergy testing is necessary prior to treatment. It is therefore one of the safest injectable treatments. It usually lasts from 6-8 months but once the patient has had a few treatments, the longevity is greater. It is mainly used to treat the naso-labial folds (the creases running from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth), lip lines, very deep frown lines and for lip contouring and enhancement. It can also be used for cheek enhancement. The effects of the injections last from 6-12 months.

IPL Hair Removal

For IPL treatments, energy is produced by a lamp, a little like a light bulb, and produces a variety of light waves, meaning that it is more diffuse and less powerful. Different wavelengths of light penetrate the skin at different depths. As a result, only some of the light energy is used effectively for hair reduction and it also means that deeper, thicker hairs are not treated effectively. In addition, some of the light can be absorbed into the surrounding tissue, leading to heating of the pigment in the skin. This is why there is more of a risk of burns for darker skin types with IPL. It is usually limited to use on fairer skin types. In essence it is less effective than Lasers and often clients need many more treatments to see effective results. Prices per session are lower than Laser but the client would need more treatments to see a positive result. At the clinic, the IPL is primarily used for photorejuventation or treatment of diffused redness on the skin (rosacea)

Facials

IPL photorejuvenation will help to keep a younger and fresher looking face. The laser light is absorbed by the pigment vacuoles in the keratinocytes (the pigment cells) and also by the red blood cells in the facial thread veins. This generates heat that destroys the pigment and the vessel walls of the fine thread veins. The face is cooled before and during treatment to prevent damage to the surrounding skin. Immediately after the treatment the skin may look red but this settles within a few hours. Over the next few days you develop a dirty look when the skin develops very fine mottling and looks darker as the destroyed pigment is extruded from the cells. This settles in a few days leaving the skin looking smoother and fresher. It is widely used within our clinic to minimise large pores. Clients have reported that pores are greatly reduced with this treatment and also when treating thread veins .

Laser Hair Removal

At the Laser and Aesthetic Clinic we use the Gentlemax Pro Laser by Candela, with both Alexandrite and Nd Yag modalities. The Alexandrite laser is suitable for skin types 1-3, whilst the Nd Yag is suitable for skin types 4-6. These two lasers are the gold standard in treatment for hair reduction. The Laser light is absorbed by the melanin (the black pigment) in the hair, causing the hair follicle to heat up and hence destroying it. A patch test is recommended prior to your treatment, and it is advisable to not be in the sun for 4 weeks post treatment. Six treatments are usually required to ensure optimal results as at any given time the laser only treats hair that are in the growth phase of the cycle

Wart Removal

Warts and Verrucae are caused by a virus called Human Papilloma (HPV). When you contract the virus on your hands and face, a small “cauliflower like" growth appears, known as a wart. When the virus breaks out on the sole of your foot, the pressure on the sole of your foot from daily activities does not allow the virus to grow outwards so gets pushed back into the skin becoming a verrucae. The Alexandrite Laser targets the blood vessels that feed the wart and works by destroying the blood supply to the wart without causing damage to the surrounding skin. The procedure is painful during treatment but this usually reduces considerably after a while. The laser energy heats up the wart, sealing it’s blood supply so that the wart can no longer survive. After 4 weeks following the treatment, the patient is then reviewed. Whilst the success rate of this treatment is very high, it is not 100% as some warts fail to respond despite our best efforts. Research has shown that the laser also kills the HPV virus whereas typical treatments of chemical therapy and cryotherapy destroy the wart or verrucae but leave traces of the virus behind. Normally 2-3 treatments are required. There is a consultation fee of £50 with Dr Patel, which is refundable against the cost of the treatment.

Microdermabrasion

Here at The Laser & Aesthetic Clinic we use Medical Microdermabrasion and clients from as far as in London come to Gravesend for our honest and professional advise regarding treatments. Mircodermabrasion is a term used to describe the technique of abrading the skin to remove a layer of dead skin cells. This is done by using a jet of fine crystals vacuumed across the skin. The real benefit of the treatment is that your skin will feel soft and smooth and look younger and brighter. Some of our clients are worried about lines above the upperlip area and the microdermabrasion can help smooth these lines and fine lines around the eyes.

Skin Peel

Agera skin peels have the ability to gently improve the appearance of the skin by increasing the renewal of the skin cells, enhancing collagen production and refining pore size. Suitable for those requiring a light, superficial peel. It is a good treatment for acne prone skin or those requiring an anti ageing treatment. The peel helps tighten the skin and gives it a smoother and clearer texture. We only suggest products suitable for that individual clients type of skin condition (not one product suits all) This peel can be tailor made in terms of strength. We normally start on SLC 24 and progress upto SLC 50 which is the highest strength peel from this range. Please note for Asian skin we would not go as high as SLC50 we normally add more layers to increase the depth of the peel. The most we could increase for this type of skin is upto SLC40. There is no down time with this treatment which can be combined with microdermabrasion for a greater result. Great if clients are looking for a more aggressive type of treatment with added longer lasting results.

Waxing

Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will be slower to grow back in the previously waxed area, and can take anything from two to eight weeks. Waxing at The Laser and Aesthetic Clinic - Katie is our waxing expert at the clinic and is renowned for her perfection in the art of waxing- from facial waxing right down to the Hollywood, we promise a service that is quick, with minimal pain and long lasting results. Our quality of waxing, extensive treatment list, opulent surroundings and our meticulosity have kept our clients coming back to us time and time again. The benefits of waxing: The hair is removed directly from the root so it takes longer time for hair to grow again. Results last anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks. No harsh chemicals are present in wax, so, the skin is saved from their damaging effect. The hair that grows after waxing is finer.
