Dr. George Pouros is a dedicated professional who believes in strong doctor patient relationships. His consultations are comprehensive and informative reflecting his philosophy of providing his patients with all the information required in order to make an informed decision. After the initial evaluation, George will suggest the appropriate course of action before proceeding to explain in detail the procedures, what to expect from them as well as the risks involved. His aim is to provide patients with natural-looking, beautiful results.

Dr. George is married and lives just outside Nicosia, however, being a true lover of the sea he spends most of the summer on the coasts of Larnaca and Protaras. Although he does not have a lot of free time to enjoy them he has many hobbies which include most kinds of sports.

George was born in 1959 and he has spent 15 years abroad studying and training in Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Microsurgery.

He received his medical degree from The University of Medicine & Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania. He subsequently worked and trained in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, the Burns Unit and the Microsurgery Unit of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Bucharest. Dr. Geroge then obtained a Ph.D degree in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery on the methods of covering soft tissue defects after multiple traumatisms of the extremities. He is currently one of the very few Cypriot plastic surgeons with a Ph.D.

Before returning to Cyprus he trained and worked in Japan, Switzerland and Israel where he gained invaluable experiences.

In Japan he worked in Showa Universitys Department of Plastic Surgery in Tokyo where he practiced Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery and Microsurgery.

He then moved to Switzerland, to the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital of Vaud in Lausanne where he practiced exclusively in Aesthetic Surgery.

The Department of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery, the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Burns Unit of Tel-Hashomer hospital in Tel-Aviv, Israel, was his last stop abroad. There, in addition to the usual incidents, the ongoing trouble in the region offered him the opportunity to work with burns, traumas, microsurgery and reconstructive surgery, a truly invaluable experience in the field of plastic surgery.

In addition to his work as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Pouros has written a number of papers in Plastic Surgery which he has presented at various International Congresses. He is also giving lectures and training doctors, in various countries, on the use of injectable fillers for the treatment of wrinkles.

During the last few years he has carried out research in the field of Photo Dynamic Therapy resulting in the invention of a revolutionary cream based on 5 Aminolevulinic Acid. This cream can be used to treat a variety of conditions including some kinds of tumours and acne as well as for skin rejuvenation.

Mrs. Mariana Serban, from Romania, is our resident nurse. She has over 30 years of experience in Plastic Surgery, both Aesthetic and Reconstructive, as well as in Microsurgery. In addition to her medical skills, Marianna has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, making her an invaluable member of our team.
Marianna is friendly and positive, enjoying every single moment of her life. She loves nature, long walks and the sea which she finds particularly relaxing.

She has a Bachelor in Medical Assistance from Vasile Goldis Western University of Romania, and has served for many years as a head nurse in the operating theaters of the Plastic Surgery Department of the Bucharest University Hospital, one of the largest in Bucharest.

She has worked for the last eight years in Cyprus with Dr. Pouros, one of our doctors in BeautyMed Spa. Her duties included assisting him in the operating theater, patient after-care and performing non-invasive aesthetic procedures using modern equipment and techniques.

Marianna loves her job and finds it rewarding to see satisfied patients, especially after a long and complicated reconstructive surgery. As she says “nothing beats a genuine thank you from a satisfied patient”.

Dr. Eleftheriou is a Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon focusing mainly on cosmetic facial surgery and dental implants.

He graduated from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Faculty of Dentistry, Greece, before becoming a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Rambam medical Center, Technion-Faculty of Medicine, in Haifa, Israel.Dr. Eleftheriou dedicates a big part of his time to researching and perfecting new techniques in facial surgery. To this end he attends specialized workshops, seminars, and conferences in his field where he has the opportunity to meet, work and consult with other worldwide specialists.

In addition to cosmetic facial surgery and dental implants, his area of expertise also covers the use of Lasers in the Oral and Maxillofacial region as well as other non invasive aesthetic procedures.

Dr. Eleftheriou is member of numerous Professional Affiliations such as the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, the European Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, theInternational Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, theEuropean Society of Aesthetic Surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeryand the Cyprus Dental Association.
