In April I went to Belgium to have my eyelid surgery done. A friend and I were doing some research on clinics and Belgium’s response rate, photos on the website, cost and general services, made it our best option. It was really good value for money. I’m so pleased with the results and would do it all over again if given the chance. The follow-up was done at their London-based surgery and I had the stitches removed there too. Downtime was only three days.

I couldn’t recommend Dr Tamer and his team enough. I flew out to Egypt by myself to have a gastric sleeve after spending most of my life unhappy and morbidly obese. I met some lovely ladies out there and they have become friends for life. Dr Tamer and his team made me feel so comfortable. When I arrived at the hospital everything was so clean and beautiful, I had never seen anything like it before. Everyone was so friendly. Before going down for surgery I was so nervous and I was reassured so much by all of the team, even though I went alone I didn’t feel like I was alone because of how much the team comforted me when I needed them. The care that I received was like nothing I’d experienced before. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. I am now 1 year post op and almost 8 stone down. My life has changed forever and I will be forever grateful to Dr Tamer and all of his team.

I decided to have the standard gastric sleeve surgery for obesity for me personally I had so many stretch marks on my stomach I didn’t think I needed the bikini sleeve, if i hadn’t got so many stretch marks I would of definitely opted the bikini sleeve. I thought a sleeve for my particular BMI was best suited to this procedure rather than the gastric bypass per example. Dr. Tamer and his team were professional, empathetic and efficient. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel comfortable and welcome the nurses took great care to look after me before and post op during my hospital stay. If any patients were struggling or had queries Dr. Tamer no matter how busy would strive to get back to you as soon as he was able. The other doctors also were extremely patient and compassionate. Any question I had would be answered. Even following discharge at the hotels all my transport was provided and even now back in the UK as soon as I send any niggling question Dr T gets straight back to me. I went on my own so obviously was very nerve-racking so it was great the support I had in place there. The WhatsApp groups of other women having the same surgery before, after and same day surgery were a godsend. It makes your journey so much easier sharing feelings, tips, worries. I feel like I made some firm friends in this process. The drivers were also extremely accommodating. Everyone really. In fact, my whole experience out there was a great one. Even after hospital discharge I got to enjoy a fantastic tour of the pyramid, sphinx boat ride on the Nile. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t in pain initially post op, as you would be with Bariatric surgery. However I am still so pleased that I picked the best team and best place in the world to have this surgery (and let’s be honest a fraction of what some clinics charge) So in all, I highly recommend the brilliant Dr. Tamer and his wonderful team.
