Your weight loss journey is second to none from the moment you make first contact with us, we are on hand to help you every step of the way, with two years of ongoing support after your surgery; we are focused on helping you achieve your goal, and tapping into the skills of our highly experienced team is certainly the best way forward.  We work in conjunction with the leading specialist hospitals here in Dubai.

In order to continue successfully down the road of weight loss and management, you need ongoing support in order to keep that weight off, to live a healthy life, and to change your general mind-set on nutrition, exercise, and what constitutes health and fitness.

Included in our two years’ aftercare service is:
•             Ongoing dietary advice, with the help of a highly skilled dietician
•             Help from a remote personal trainer, to help with toning and exercise
•             Contact with a highly skilled nurse, specialising in weight loss management
•             Ongoing help from a psychotherapist, because weight loss is as much about adjusting your mind-set, as adjusting your body
•             24/7 help from patient care staff, in case of any out of hours’ queries
•             Transport on the day of surgery
•             A range of communication options, including telephone advice, email, text, Skype, and face to face appointments.

Why? Because we believe this is one of the most important parts of your treatment, time and time again offering a service that is world class, with ongoing support from your surgeon and a team of healthcare professionals. We are with you every step of the way.

Our surgeons are highly skilled, with years of experience in bariatric surgery. On top of this, we offer consultations to all patients who are thinking about undergoing weight loss surgery, or anyone who is seeking help for weight loss management in general. Following your procedure, you will be given two years of free aftercare, because the time after surgery is just as important as the time during it, if you want to keep those results.

Our view on weight loss is simple – you should learn to eat in order to live, to fuel your body, not live to contaminate your body with unhealthy options, simply because they are there. We can help you learn this view, adhere to it, and change your life as a result. It will literally be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Currently we have clinics in Dubai addressing the weight loss needs of both residents in the area and those heading to this part of the world for surgery, combining it with sightseeing and tourism.

We are experts in weight loss surgery and everything related to weight loss in general, having worked with countless patients for many years. We are highly trained, highly professional, and highly experienced.

Your Consultation

Planning starts with your consultation…..

Consultations should only be given by one person, a highly experiencedsurgeon who is the only one capable of determining whether you are a suitablecandidate for the surgery that you are asking for.  Counsellors, or nursing, irrespective oftheir experience are not licensed to operate and although they may assist withsimple explanations, you should not allow yourself to be placed in a situationwhere they advise surgery.

At theconsultation you will not find counsellors. All consultations are carried outby highly trained Cosmetic GMC Registered Surgeons.

We do not charge for Consultations. A very high degree of knowledge and skill is required for awell-balanced opinion about the necessity for the operation in which you may beinterested.  You must appreciate thateven when the advice is not in favour of surgery, it comes from a highlyqualified person who has given his time, attention and experience to yourproblem, consulting, both pre and post-operatively accounts for over 50 percent of surgeons times and good ones do not give this time away.  Neither will they tell you that you needsurgery when you don’t.

Surgeons build reputation not only by the work they carry out, but thework they decline.

Duodenal Switch

The primary advantage of duodenal switch surgery is that its combination of moderate intake restriction with substantial calorie malabsorption results in a higher percentage of excess weight loss versus a purely restrictive gastric bypass for all individuals.

Gastric Balloon

An Intragastric Balloon is a smallinflatable balloon, which can be used as a temporary aid to achieving weightloss in moderately obese patients.   This will mean that you can only eat small meals as the balloon willfill a large proportion of your stomach. You may also have the feeling of beingfuller for longer.

Who is suitable for a Intra gastric Balloon?

Whether or not you are suitable for aIntra gastric Balloon can only be decided after a careful discussion with asurgeon who specialises in treating obesity (bariatric surgeon).

An Intragastric Balloon may be anoption for a person:

To provide a short term solution forpatients who are struggling with their individual weight loss challenge.

Or who has a BMI of 27  or more –in order to get body weight to a safer level before performing further weightloss surgery

Gastric Band

Who is suitable for a Gastric Band operation?

Whether or not you are suitable for an operation can only be decided after a careful discussion with a Surgeon who specialises in treating obesity. Surgery may bean option for a person:

o  Who has a BMI of 30 or more

o  Who has a BMI of 30, and a medical condition that would be improved by losing weight

o  Who has made serious prolonged attempts to lose weight by other means

o  Aged 18 or older

o  Who does not have medical or psychological factors that make them unsuitable for an operation

o  Who is fit enough for an operation and a general anaesthetic

o  Who commits to long term follow up.

o   We do not offer weight loss surgery to people who smoke. This information is for people who are having or thinking about having an operation to fit a gastric band. This is usually done by Keyholeor Laparoscopic Surgery. Gastric Banding is a type of weight loss surgery. The size of your stomach is reduced using a band so that only small meals can be eaten and you feel fuller sooner.

Most patients will go home the day after their operation.

Your surgeon will explain the benefits and risks of having a gastric band fitted, and will also discuss the alternatives to the operation.

It is important to remember that your care may be different from how it is described here because it is adapted to meet your individual needs.

We have learned that many potential problems after the surgery are related to the diet and most can be avoided byfollowing some simple rules.

Gastric Bypass

Gastric Bypass is a type of weight losssurgery that works by making your stomach smaller and bypassing part of yourbowel to make your digestive system shorter. This will mean that you can onlyeat small meals. Your body will take up fewer calories from the food that youeat.

Some patients are not suitable for keyholesurgery and so a conventional ‘open’ operation will be performed. The importantthing to remember is that your operation is performed safely.

Depending on the technique used, you will needto stay in hospital about three to five days.

Gastric Sleeve

Sleeve Gastrectomy is a type of weight losssurgery aimed at permanently making your stomach smaller by dividing it intotwo separate compartments. The smaller compartment is made into your newstomach. This will mean that you can only eat small meals.

Your surgeon will explain the benefits andrisks of having a sleeve gastrectomy, and will also discuss the alternatives tothe operation.
