I am a male and had an operation when I was a teenager for a condition called gynecomastia on my left breast. The operation left me scarred and disfigured. I needed to go and have the same operation done on the right breast, but didn’t because of the experience I already encountered. It curtailed me when swimming in public because I had to wear a T shirt. It probably wasn’t that bad, but in my mind it was. Two weeks ago I had corrective surgery on the left breast and liposuction on the right breast by the medical team at Auralia. On my initial visit and consultation with the surgeon Dr. Ahmed Salmen he reassured me that the operation would be a total success and that I would be very happy with the result. The operation went very smoothly and I never suffered any pain or discomfort in the days that followed. I was initially nervous about having surgery and going through the whole process again but delighted I went for that consultation with Dr. Salmen. Two weeks on and for the first time I was able to swim and walk on a packed beach with confidence. Gastric Band  
Our gastric band program is the number one long term weight loss program available. All of our surgeries are carried out in our own state of the art facilities in Dublin by our world renowned consultant bariatric surgeons. Following your gastric band procedure you are enrolled onto our comprehensive after-care program. You will receive full nutritional guides which covers all aspects of the foods you need to be eating whilst being worded in a way that is very easy to understand. You will also receive full exercise guidelines which will be incorporated into your program after you have lost some weight and once it is safer for you to engage in physical activity. You will have unlimited appointments with our weight loss team, providing motivation and ensuring that we can be depended upon by you. You will also have all adjustments/fills of your gastric band included on your after-care program. As standard, you will also receive 24/7 emergency phone support and full surgical cover for the entire duration of your program. Typically, we would expect a weight loss of at least 5-6 stone within the first year of our program, however, we have many patients who have lost as much as 10 stone within this time. 
Gastric Balloon  
Our gastric balloon program has proven results in helping our patients to kick start their weight loss or to shift those last few stones off. Our program includes a 1 year after-care program during which you will have regular follow up consultations with our weight loss team whilst also being educated on how to maintain your weight loss long term. You will also receive full nutritional guides, full exercise guides, 24/7 emergency phone support and full surgical cover whilst on the program.
Gastric Sleeve  
Our gastric sleeve program has proven to be the most effective form of long term weight loss for our patients for many years. Our programme starts with your gastric sleeve procedure being carried out  in our state of the art, fully CHKS, NTPF and ISO accredited, private hospital in Dublin by our expert bariatric surgeon. Following the procedure, you will have lifetime after-care with our weight loss team, including unlimited appointments and 24/7 emergency phone support. Typically, we would expect our patients to lose approximately 6-7 stone (38-44kg) within the first year. However, this will vary from patient to patient depending on how strictly they stick to the given guidelines. Many of our patients have lost as much as 11 stone (69kg) within the first year. Here at Auralia Weight Loss Clinic we understand that the decision to undergo any form of procedure is not one which can be made easily. We also understand that most of our patients prefer to have all the available information before making a decision. For this reason, we offer all of our gastric sleeve patients free consultations. Had my gastric band fitted in August 2023, the whole experience went flawlessly from my consultation in Dublin to the surgery itself. The staff at the hospital were so nice and attentive, hospital is absolutely spotless and the surgeon and his team take the time to chat to you and explain everything. The surgery went without any problems and I recovered very well. The aftercare is amazing now and I have just got my first fill, looking forward to good weight loss now. In this procedure, a hollowband made of special material is placed around the stomach near its upper end,creating a small pouch and a narrow passage into the larger remainder of thestomach. The band is then inflated with a salt solution. It can be tightened orloosened over time to change the size of the passage by increasing ordecreasing the amount of salt solution. The entire procedure is donelaparoscopically, where a laparoscope is inserted through the abdominal wallthrough small surgical incisions. It induces weight loss byreducing the capacity of the stomach, which restricts the amount of food thatcan be consumed. Minimally Invasive Approach

Advantages of gastric sleeve include lower cost, less dumping, fewer complications and does not require adjustments after the initial surgery. How does the Gastric Sleeve work? The vertical sleeve gastrectomy is a restrictive form of weight loss surgery in which approximately 85% of the stomach is removed leaving a cylindrical or sleeve shaped stomach with a capacity ranging from about 60 to 150 cc, depending upon the surgeon performing the procedure.
Gastric Bypass €7500 - €7950
The gastric bypass or stomach bypass is one of the surgical techniques for treating morbid obesity. Alongside purely restrictive techniques, such as gastric banding, and largely malabsorptive techniques, such as Biliopancreatic Derivation by Scopinaro, this is a combined technique. As with a purely restrictive intervention such as the adjustable gastric band, this surgery is largely a restriction of the food intake, with reduced digestion a less important factor. However, the long-term results are noticeably better than those for purely restrictive surgery. This is due to reduced food intake and a reduced feeling of hunger.
