The treatment was professional, knowledgeable and caringJill, UK, 05 04 21

I had been suffering from ligament and tendon problems in my knees for several months. My knees then became inflamed and swollen and walking was very painful. I'm so glad I visited this clinic as the treatment I received has enabled me to walk without discomfort and take up exercise again. Over four treatments of acupuncture, cupping and massage, the swelling and inflammation disappeared and my tendons and ligaments relax. The treatment was professional, knowledgeable and caring. I highly recommend this clinic.

I am a qualified nurse with 10 years experience in accident and emergency medicine. Now, a fully qualified acupuncture practitioner and registered with the British Acupuncture Council. I am pragmatic yet sensitive and a good listener. I am passionate about Chinese Medicine and acupuncture as I feel this approach has so much to offer for people who don't feel on top of the world either physically or emotionally. Call me for a chat to see if I can help.
Fertility Acupuncture
I am a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network, a professional interest group in treating those with fertility issues. I can provide IVF support. Acupuncture is known to improve the uterine blood supply, which increases the chances for embryo implantation.
Acupuncturist Consultation
I practiced as a nurse for 10 years gaining experience in accident and emergency medicine. I am now a fully qualified acupuncture practitioner registered with the British Acupuncture Council. Treatment is successful for muscle pain, low back pain, fatigue and low energy, anxiety and stress, headaches, IBS and menstrual problems, for example. I can provide treatment during pregnancy to maintain health and well being, and also for minor disorders such as morning sickness. I am a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network, a  group of practitioners with a special interest in fertility issues. I can help muscle pain, arthritis using Tuina, a remedial massage developed in China and used alongside acupuncture or on its own.
Electro-Acupuncture
Electro-acupuncture is used to enhance acupuncture treatment for many muscular problems. A small electrical current is passed though the needles to stimulate blood flow to an injured area, thus providing a good environment for tissue healing and repair.

Fertility Acupuncture
Acupuncturist Consultation £20 - £50
Treatment is suitable for most patients except: Patients who are unwilling or afraid Bleeding disorders, anticoagulants, and antiplatelet drugs Immunocompromised patients Skin infections at site of needling Skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema Metal allergy Valvular heart disease (for indwelling needles) Patients who are going to drive or operate machinery What are the differences between traditional and modern acupuncture? The differences are mainly at the level of theory - ideas about what is going on when one inserts an acupuncture needle into a patient. There, are, however, also some practical differences. Modern acupuncturists do not use traditional diagnostic methods such as the pulse or the appearance of the tongue. Many, though not all, modern acupuncturists leave the needles in place for quite a short time: often about two minutes or even less. Many, though not all, modern acupuncturists use only a few needles - perhaps four and sometimes only one! Surprising though this may seem, experience shows that doing acupuncture this way is quite as effective as using a lot of needles and leaving them in for longer and is less likely to have unwanted effects. Which is better, modern or traditional? It is not possible to give an objective answer to this question because there is little good research evidence that bears on it. Probably both versions of acupuncture are roughly similar in effectiveness but modern acupuncture is generally quicker and easier to perform. There are also some techniques in the modern version that are not used in traditional acupuncture and which are particularly effective in certain circumstances, e.g. for the treatment of joint pain (arthritis). How does it work? We cannot yet explain this, however current theories include pain modulation and endorphin release.
