Acupuncturist Consultation (45 mins)

Acupuncture is a gentle tried and tested therapy. As an insured and registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (9 years), Christine has helped many individuals, since graduating from Salford University with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Acupuncture can be highly effective for pain relief and stress related disorders. More than that, because the needles direct energy they will help your body to heal, in a side-effect free manner. Acupuncture also works alongside Western Medicine.

Auricular Acupuncture (45 mins)

Auricular acupuncture is useful for addictions, including weight control. The NADA 5 point protocol (a universally accepted code of practice) is used. Christine was taught this particular form of acupuncture by Pauline Ronson, the founder of the British Auricular Acupuncture Society.

Cost is £40 per treatment. A course of 5 treatments costs £120.

Electro-Acupuncture (45 mins)

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, Christine uses electro-acupuncture to potentiate traditional Chinese acupuncture. This is a particularly effective form of pain relief.

Fertility Acupuncture (45 mins)

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is a useful aid to fertility treatment. It is also used to enhance IVF. Its main use is to draw the circulation of energy  and blood to the uterus. However, acupuncture is also a relaxant and where adrenaline can be reduced, this may enhance the chances of a successful pregnancy.

Within the treatment package, I also teach yoga for fertility and relaxation techniques. IVF treatment, in particular is stressful and it is important that adrenaline levels are modified as far as possible.

The cost of a treatment package is £120 for each course of 5 treatments.

Phase 1 (preparation stage) Treatments take place on a weekly basis to encourage circulation of qi and blood.

Phase 2 (hormones are down regulated) Treatment is aimed at side effects and relaxaation.

Phase 3 (hormonal stimulation) During this phase I rely on feed-back from the hospital/patient and work to support treatment given. 

Phase 4 (retrieval) One treatment before oocyte retrieval.

Phase 5 (transfer stage) One treatment before and one treatment after transfer, each as close as possible to transfer.

Accuhealth has been established for 12 years and includes registration with the British Acupuncture Council, the main governing body for traditionally trained acupuncturists in the UK, accredited by the British Standards Authority.

I am trained to degree level (Hons. Chinese Medicine) to conform with the BACC code of ethics, insurance and training standards. This enables me to use acupuncture with a depth of understanding, which has its roots in a form of medicine, which is thousands of years old and concerns itself with treating the individual, rather than just the symptom. 

Accuhealth, was established as a result of my own learning curve. Having had an interest in natural forms of healing, I then formalised my interest via education. Degrees include TCM, and Human Biology with Psychology. These followed on from a variety of Diplomas and Certificates related to nutrition and auricular acupuncture. I also trained to teach Yoga, which I use in a remedial and therapeutic manner where appropriate.
